Qatar National Research Survey (QNRS) offering a database on Qatari research designed to enhance the national repository of research output in order to promote awareness of the areas of research undertaken in Qatar and to provide a corpus of work that can be used by future researchers.

This database was compiled from three sources:

• Records of research output in Qatar from 1970 till end of 2003 compiled jointly by the Planning Council and Qatar University in Guide to Research and Studies in Qatar published in 2005. However, these records are limited in their content.
• Records of research output collated by QNRF through an online survey and by direct contact with academic, government and semi-government organizations and research centers in Qatar for the period 2004-2007. The content of these records are more extensive. Notably, it is stipulated that the affiliation of at least one of the authors in the cited publication is a reference to a university or research organization in Qatar.
• Titles of Masters and PhD theses (with abstracts for recent ones) of Qatari students from 1970-2007, as compiled by the Qatar National Library.

This database will be updated by QNRF in 2010 to include Qatari research output during 2008 and 2009.
