Goals and Guidelines

To create a framework that fosters collaboration between researchers in Qatar and the global research communities.
To encourage all academic, government or private organizations in the State of Qatar to engage in hosting scientific and academic conferences.
To attract international academic or professional institutions to participate, through academic, government or private organizations in the State of Qatar, to host their periodic conferences in Qatar.
To give exposure to the importance of research for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Qatar.

QNRF will only sponsor conferences and workshops that are to be held in Qatar.
The sponsoring decision will be taken upon a competitive basis for all academic institutions, government or private organizations in the State of Qatar.
Sponsorship will take into consideration the number of conferences or workshops already sponsored by QNRF for the submitting institution within a calendar year.
The sponsorship decision will also be based on the constraint of the level of the QNRF sponsorship budget allocated for that particular quarterly fiscal budget.
QNRF reserves the right to determine the level of conference sponsorship and the sponsored amount for conferences and workshops.
QNRF is not obliged to justify its sponsorship decision and will not reconsider any unsuccessful sponsorship request. However, if limited due to budget constraints, QNRF reserves the right to postpone its sponsorship decision to the following fiscal quarter and this event, the applicant will be notified.
The timing of the submission request should take into consideration the timeline posted for the date of QNRF's decision notification for each quarter of the year.

QNRF will only consider sponsorship requests that are submitted through its online submission system (www.qnrfsubmission.info) by an applicant who is affiliated to a Qatari submitting institution which has a Research Office registered with QNRF.
Co-funding by other Qatar Foundation entities is not allowed.
Using the online submission system, the applicant has to login to CWSP submission channel and submit the required information which includes supporting documents such as the event's program, speakers particulars, benefits to Qatar, budget with justification for expenses that include: cost of venue, travel/transportation, hotel accommodation, publications/brochures, advertising and any other documents that are deemed relevant. The application will then be forwarded, by the system, to the submitting institution's Research Office (RO) for vetting before it is received by QNRF.
Upon notification of QNRF sponsorship approval, a Conference or a Workshop Sponsorship Agreement will be sent to the RO indicating the approved sponsored amount and its associated obligations. This agreement is to be signed by the authorized representatives of QNRF and the submitting institution, after which the sponsorship amount will be transferred to the submitting institution's nominated account.
