As you all know, our world is nowadays passing through a challenging time as the pandemic COVID-19, aka Corona Virus, has spread in populations across the world.

From smart technology and sustainability to the preservation of Qatari identity, Qatar Foundation-funded research that is designed to improve people’s lives and build a stronger Qatar has been brought to wider attention.

Texas A&M University at Qatar and Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) recently hosted the Second International Conference on Smart Grid and Renewable Energy (SGRE2019) focusing on smart grid and renewable energy resource integration for Qatar and beyond.

Shehel Yoosuf from Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Science and Engineering (CSE) was among the winners at the 2019 workshop on NLP4IF co-located with Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing (EMNLP), held in Hong Kong from November 3-7.

More than 80 research projects focused on tackling Qatar’s most pressing issues have been awarded funding under Qatar National Research Fund’s National Priorities Research Program.
