Apply for the 28th Cycle of Undergraduate Research Experience Program

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) is pleased to announce the launch of the 28th cycle of its Undergraduate Research Experience Program (UREP).

UREP aims to develop research infrastructure in Qatar by establishing the basis of scientific research at the undergraduate level. Participants are provided with the opportunity to pursue their research interests with a ‘learning by doing’ and ‘hands-on’ approach under the mentorship of experienced researchers and professionals.

Eligibility of Participants

a. Eligibility of Primary Research Mentors (PRMs) and Research Mentors (RMs)

  • The PRM must be affiliated with a submitting institution in Qatar.
  • An eligible PRM must hold a research-oriented doctorate or any of the approved terminal degrees. If the PRM does not hold a terminal degree, then at least one RM must hold a research-oriented doctorate or any other approved terminal degree.

b. Eligibility of Undergraduate Students

•    Students should be registered or enrolled as full-time students in an undergraduate degree program in an educational institution or university in Qatar at the time of research proposal submission.

Online proposal submission for this cycle ends on 1 February 2021, and the award announcement will be in November 2021.

Note: For the 2020/2021 academic year, there will only be one cycle for UREP.
