Instructions for the hardcopy submission

QNRF is now requesting that you need to submit the final vetted proposals and NOT the original proposals that you had submitted previously to your RO, LPI can also download their uploaded documents for printing. To this end, I am pleased to inform you that QNRF has extended the deadline for the hard copy submission to 3:30 pm, Monday, December 15^th 2008 instead of December 1st. Furthermore, in order to minimize the content of the hard copy submission, QNRF requires you to include the following items only;

•  The proposal, including all the uploaded attachments, as generated by the online submission system which incorporates a space at the bottom of the cover page for the signature of the Lead PI

•  The "Combined Budget" summaries and NOT the whole Excel file.

•  The original endorsement and supporting letters.

To print the hard copy, please follow the procedure below:

1.            Log in to your NPRP account and go to the proposal status page.

2.            Print the entire online section after it has been vetted by the RO by clicking on the new "Printer Friendly Version" button, which QNRF has now added to the proposal status page.

3.            Sign the cover page and send the hard copy to your contact PI together with the original supporting letters.

4.            Print all the uploaded attachments which appear active on the same page except for the budget which you need to follow the instructions in item 5 below.

5.            Print the Combined Budget summaries from your separate Excel budget file by following the specific instructions below:

•                    Position the cursor at cell A1 and highlight the area down to the cell in the bottom right-hand corner of the “Summary” schedule (bordered by the thick black line and normally referenced as cell L39)

•                    Select File, Print Area and Set Print Area from the menu

•                    Select Print Preview and see that the page orientation is "Landscape"

•                    Select Setup, click Landscape, click "Fit to 1 page wide by 1 page tall" and select paper size as A4.

•                    Click OK

•                    Select Print and when your own printer is selected, check again that the paper size is A4, the page orientation is "Landscape" and, under the "Effects" tab, if available, select "Print document on A4" and click "Scale to Fit"

•                    Print and repeat the process for "Summary Year 1", "Summary Year 2" and "Summary Year 3" which you will see onscreen located to the right of the "Summary" schedule

6.            The contact PI should then submit the hard copy to the RO of his/her institution who in turn should attach the original endorsement letter.

Finally, to facilitate the process of collection of the hard copies from the selected ROs below, our representative, Ms. Riham Daher will come and collect them as per the timeline below. 

NB: if your RO is not listed in the above table, your contact PIs need to hand-deliver the hard copy of your proposal to the QNRF office over the period from 1st -15th Dec 2008 from 7:30 am- 3:30 pm to Riham Daher at the address below:

Alternatively, your contact PI or your self, after obtaining the original copy of the endorsement letter from the RO, can deliver the hard copy directly to QNRF before the deadline above.
