Northwestern University media survey this month

Northwestern University in Qatar has announced that fieldwork for its third annual media use survey will begin this month.

The study, a recipient of a National Priorities Research Program award from the Qatar National Research Fund, will provide new insights into people’s use of and attitudes toward media. This year’s survey will mostly replicate NU-Q’s 2013 survey focusing on news and information media use in the Arab world.

Researchers will conduct confidential interviews with 1,000 respondents in Qatar by phone over the course of an approximately three-week period.

The NU-Q media use survey project has become an important source of information for academics, industry, and policymakers in the field. The release of this year’s study is expected sometime this spring – details will be announced once the fieldwork has been completed. The Pennisula
