Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) and The National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST) -Morocco, have announced the result for their joint Equine Research Call.

The proposal “Building a resource for Equine Genome Research in Qatar and Morocco” which is submitted by  the Equine Veterinary Medical Center  and Institut Agronomique et Vétérinaire Hassan II was awarded.

This call aims to advance the field of equine research and strengthen the equine industry in Qatar and Morocco by integrating their research activities, resources, and expertise. In addition, this call aims to capitalize on the existing knowledge and skills in genomic research to develop breeding programs for horses and their overall health. To enhance research cooperation, the proposals must include researchers from both Qatar and Morocco.

The research priority areas of this call were Studying the biochemical and cellular pathways that underpin performance, immunology, reproduction, and infectious disease response in horses and integration of genetic information with traditional breeding approaches.
