QNRF and QGP Announce PPM4 Awardees

As part of its efforts to support and advance Qatar’s precision medicine and genomic research infrastructure, Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) and Qatar Genome Program (QGP) are delighted to announce the results for the fourth cycle of the Path towards Precision Medicine (PPM) call. The PPM aims to promote research that provides tailored medical treatment catering to the individual characteristics of each patient in Qatar based on their genetic profile, and to improve the care quality while reducing unnecessary diagnostic testing and therapies.

In this cycle, 30 research proposals were received and were subjected to a competitive and thorough evaluation process. Out of these, five outstanding projects have been awarded to receive grants of up to USD 700,000 for a period of up to 4 years.

QNRF established the PPM call in collaboration with the Qatar Genome Programme (QGP) to capitalize on the wealth of data generated by QGP and to support the vision of making Qatar a pioneer in the field of genomic medicine research. For the fourth cycle of PPM, researchers were invited to apply for the following four priority areas:

  1. Immunogenomics and precision immunotherapeutic approaches
  2. Clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics
  3. Multi-omics analysis of common chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders, and cancer
  4. Precision medicine digital e-solutions and applications

Please browse through the list below to learn more about the awarded research projects.
