Objective
The objective of the 5th cycle of the Path towards Precision Medicine (PPM) is to support and advance research that aims to guide healthcare decisions toward the most effective prevention, diagnosis and and/or treatment for a given patient based on their genetic profile. This call will continue to support genomic research in Qatar, particularly research utilizing the specimens and data collected and generated by QBB and QGP, with an added focus on innovative projects aiming at translating basic research into clinical implementation.
Description
For up to four-year awards, the application budget may not exceed
US $180K for a one- year project,
US $360K for a two-year project,
US $540K for a three-year project and
US $630K for a four-year project. For projects of more than one year, the budget may not exceed
US $225K in any year.
Responsiveness to Challenges
PPM has four specific areas of priority;
- Clinical genomics of pediatric diseases
- Clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics
- Digital e-solutions and applications related to precision medicine
- Genomics/multi-omics characterization of immune responses

Potential Benefits
The current fifth call will focus on projects that are expected to have direct clinical impacts on precision medicine and its implementation. The call aims to reach a wider clinical research community and attract more competitive proposals, with potential impact and tangible outcome within clinical settings.
