Driving research and innovation that addresses Qatar’s greatest challenges and generates true economic and social benefit for the nation will be the focus of the Qatar Foundation Annual Research Conference 2018 (ARC’18).

A professor at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar (WCM-Q) has had his work into heart palpitations published by one of the world’s most respected and prestigious medical journals.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Islamic Studies (CIS) and the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority jointly organised and hosted an event on Islamic finance, titled Shariah Governance in a Globalized World, recently at HBKU’s campus in Education City. It featured over 50 experts comprising Shariah scholars, Islamic finance professionals, academics, practitioners, and regulators.

The need for collaboration across all sectors in building a research and innovation ecosystem capable of meeting the challenges Qatar faces has been highlighted to science and technology leaders by Qatar Foundation Research and Development (QF R&D) at a high-level international gathering in Japan.

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), a member of Qatar Foundation Research and Development (QF R&D), has awarded 16 fellowships to graduate students in the fourth cycle of its Graduate Sponsorship Research Award (GSRA).

Qatar University (QU) was awarded the largest number of grants in the 10th cycle of National Priorities Research Programme (NPRP), a flagship programme of Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF).
As many as 29 proposals out of a total of 85 submissions have achieved awards, translating to 34% of the total awarded proposals – the highest among awarded institutes in Qatar.
