Texas A&M Univ. at Qatar Receives USD 9.16 Mn Texas A&M Univ. at Qatar Receives USD 9.16 Mn Anonym / Wednesday, December 30, 2015 0 14495 Two proposals from Texas A&M University at Qatar have been awarded a total of $9.16 million funding from the sixth batch of National Priorities Research Program – Exceptional Proposals (NPRP–EP). The NPRP-EP program is an extension of Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), a center of Qatar Foundation Research & Development. The National Priorities Research Program (NPRP) offers a maximum budget of $5 million for a period of up to five years to proposals of exceptional scientific merit requiring resources in excess of the normal level of funding available under the NPRP. The NPRP-EP was created to enable scientists with exceptional ideas, approaches, procedures and models to undertake grand projects aimed at solving key issues for Qatar and the world. Read more

The project is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2015 and will run for three years. Known as TradeLab, short for “Legal Innovation To Empower Development: Designing and Building an On-Line TradeLab in Qatar,” the project will assemble a global network of experts on international trade and trade law to empower smaller stakeholders, such as Qatar, to reap the full development benefits of global trade and investment rules.
