Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) announced the results of the 3rd Undergraduate Research Experience Program (UREP) competition which was held this year under the auspices of Dr. Saif Al Hajari, Vice Chairperson of Qatar Foundation's Board of Directors. 15 students were awarded in this competition. 

QNRF announces the awards of the 1st Cycle of Young Scientists Research Experience Program (YSREP)

The Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) announced today the results of the 1st Cycle of its Young Scientists Research Experience Program (YSREP). The cut-off score adopted was 80%, which resulted in six awarded projects, the total funding awarded in this cycle is US$1.4M, the awarded projects duration span between one and three years

The Second BNRS Survey is launched

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) today released the second Biannual National Research Survey (BNRS) results, representing data collected for the past two years starting from January 1st 2008 until December 31st 2009. The second BNRS Survey follows the inaugural survey, which included records covering the period between 1970 and 2007.

Announcing the Outcome of UREP's 8th Cycle

Qatar National Research Fund, QNRF, is pleased to announce the outcome of the 8th cycle of the Undergraduate Research Experience Program, UREP.

UREP aims at spreading research culture amongst undergraduate students by engaging them in “hands on” research projects under the guidance of their academic supervisors. UREP also encourages collaboration between academic and non-academic institutions to promote cross breading of expertise between academia and other institutions in Qatar.

Breakthrough in use of recycled, local materials in construction

A research project has identified the main solid waste streams in Qatar for potential use in construction and investigated advanced technologies for recycling that could be effectively applied in the country. In a statement, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said it was awarded the project by the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) regarding the implementation of recycled materials in construction.

Welcome to the sixth edition of QNRF’s newsletter, ‘Research Matters’. For over the past three months, we have been working from home as per the instructions of the Government of Qatar to control the spread of COVID-19. QU’s Gas Processing Centre Awarded QNRF Grant

The Gas Processing Centre (GPC) at the College of Engineering, Qatar University (QU), in collaboration with Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (Qeeri) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, College of Business and Economics at QU and Qatar Green Building Council, have received the prestigious QNRF National Priorities Research Programme - Cluster grant.
