Second cycle of ‘Path towards Personalised Medicine’ launched

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), in collaboration with Qatar Genome Programme (QGP), has launched the second cycle of the ‘path towards personalised medicine’ (PPM) call, to support and advance research focused on providing medical treatment tailored to a patient’s individual characteristics.

Science, technology, engineering and math are fascinating subjects to learn, but not always the easiest of subjects to talk about, and that’s the idea behind FameLab, which was launched yesterday for the second year in Qatar, it was announced at a press conference yesterday attended by officials from the British Council and QNRF.

The British Council, along with Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), has launched the second Qatar edition of the FameLab competition.
FameLab is a science communication competition initiated by Cheltenham Science Festivals in the UK. The Qatar edition is supported by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar University and Hamad Bin Khalifa University.

Arab Innovators Send More Than 900 Proposals to Challenge 22

The second edition of Challenge 22 has seen great demand as more than 900 proposals were sent from 10 Arab countries.
Innovators and entrepreneurs from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar topped the list of applicants with 236, 232 and 116 submissions respectively made to the innovation award launched by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC).

QU-CPH students’ projects win awards at regional forums

Qatar University College of Pharmacy (QU-CPH) students achieved a number of wins for their research projects presented at two regional forums.
PharmD student Alya Babiker and MSc students Marwa El Bashir and Aisha Osman won first place at the “2nd Intravenous and Parenteral Nutrition Symposium” recently held in Abu Dhabi for their research entitled “Antimicrobial Stewardship in Cancer Patients: A Prospective Audit with Follow Up of Antimicrobial Therapy”.
