GU-Q set to lead research project on global trade

Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) will lead a large collaborative research project funded by the National Priorities Research Programme of the Qatar National Research Fund.  The project is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2015 and will run for three years. Known as TradeLab, short for “Legal Innovation To Empower Development:  Designing and Building an On-Line TradeLab in Qatar,” the project will assemble a global network of experts on international trade and trade law to empower smaller stakeholders, such as Qatar, to reap the full development benefits of global trade and investment rules.

Manama: Texas A&M University at Qatar has won six of the 13 grants awarded to PhD scientists to conduct research in alignment with the four pillars of the Qatar National Research Strategy (QNRS). Qatar University won five grants, while Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar were offered the other two grants.

HBKU college gets QNRF grants for Parkinson’s, breast cancer research

Doha: Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), has won two Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) grants to support research efforts of its College of Science and Engineering. 
Both grants are for three years  each and focus biomedical and biological science research being undertaken in Qatar.
