Under the joint initiative, an advanced online searchable database will allow users to access published results of QNRF-funded research projects. Students and researchers searching QNRF database entries are linked to the full text of the publications via QNL subscriptions and can gain instant access from Qatar Foundation or Qatar University networks, with access from other networks requiring a QNL registration. At the time, the Arab state was recruiting skilled scientists and academics to teach and conduct research in its 14-square-kilometre 'Education City', which was under construction on the outskirts of Doha.
