Qatar in brain injury research initiative

The Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI), which functions under the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), is spearheading a major international research initiative on traumatic brain injury. The research involves extensive collaboration between leading specialists from around the globe over the next three years. It will provide new knowledge on the processes that lead to loss and recovery of function after traumatic brain injury and focus on characterising the physiological, structural and biomolecular changes in brain tissue responsible for functional impairment.
