Challenge 22 roadshow winds up Saudi activities

The Challenge 22 team and ambassadors on Wednesday concluded a six-day roadshow in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah providing information sessions on the new initiative.
Initiated by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), Silatech and Qatar National Research Fund, Challenge 22 is an innovation award developed to inspire and challenge the region’s brightest minds and celebrates the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar as a regional event.
The three themes for the inaugural launch of the award are Sustainability, Event Experience, and Sports and Health. Successful applicants have the opportunity to win a cash prize of USD $20,000 during Phase 1 of the competition and a grant to further develop their idea into a proof of concept during Phase 2 of the competition.
During their presentation in Jeddah on Wednesday at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industrial (JCCI), Abdulaziz Al Mawlawi, from the SC Technical department, gave an overview of the project. The sessions were attended by Challenge 22’s main ambassadors Mohammed Saadon Al Kuwari, popular sports TV presenter, and former Saudi Arabia captain Sami Al Jaber, country ambassadors and sports activists, Dr. Rayan Karkadan and Dr. Obai Al Bashir.
Sami Al Jaber, former Saudi Arabia captain Sami Al Jaber noted in his speech that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia its real investment not only in oil and economic but also in the minds of its young people with their creative abilities and skills, “ I hope there will big participation by young Saudis in this important initiative. I am sure that young Saudis can win this award because of their remarkable and creative ideas,” he said.
While Mohammed Saadon Al Kuwari, the popular sports TV presenter on BeIn TV encouraged Saudis to bring their best ideas for this initiative in order to be part of the most important event in the world.
 Abdulaziz Al Mawlawi, from the SC Technical department, said “We are delighted to be here in Saudi Arabia and to inform prospective applicants on the initiative. This is a great opportunity to reach out to the innovators and the brightest minds in the country to encourage them to apply.”
The Challenge 22 Roadshow commenced on Jan. 25 January in Kuwait and will conclude on Feb. 17 in the United Arab Emirates.
