The College of Science and Engineering (CSE), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), is celebrating its most successful cycle of the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) Graduate Student Research Award (GSRA) programme yet, with 17 students receiving a scholarship.
The programme, now in its seventh cycle, was launched to promote the most deserving students QNRF believe will go on to promote a world-class research culture in Qatar, and who will contribute to the nation’s research and development mission.

Applications soar 61% for Qatar National Research Fund Graduate Student Research Awards

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), a centre of Qatar Foundation Research and Development (QF R&D), saw a 61 % increase in the second cycle of its Graduate Student Research Award applications. The number of proposals rose from 16 to 26, which highlights the growing research sector in Qatar.

The majority of research submissions were from Qatar University in the field of engineering and technology, followed by the natural sciences, agricultural sciences, and social sciences.

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), a centre of Qatar Foundation Research and Development (QF R&D), has awarded grants totalling US$1,629,600 to four Ph.D. candidates in Qatar as part of the first cycle of its Graduate Student Research Awards (GSRA) program.

GSRA is QNRF’s latest program, created to further develop graduate studies by supporting outstanding Qatari and international students interested in pursuing doctoral degrees in universities in Qatar.
