Third Cycle of Early Career Researcher Award Launched

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) is pleased to announce the launch of the third cycle of its Early Career Researcher Award (ECRA), an intensive research and research leadership development award.

ECRA aims to encourage applicants to pursue a career development focus in research, support them in achieving research independence, and build their ability to apply for research grants to establish research programs in areas addressing Qatar’s R&D mission.

Eligibility:

• Qatari nationals

• Children of Qatari mothers

• Qatari document holders

• Individuals married to Qatari nationals

• Applicants who were born in Qatar and have been resident for 10 years or more

• Residents of Qatar for 12 years or more

• Qatar Research Leadership Program (QRLP) graduates

Education Qualification:  Applicants must hold a terminal degree.

Work Experience: Applicants must have two to seven years of research experience and must be affiliated with a QNRF-approved institution inside Qatar or anticipate to start their job with one upon being awarded.

Research Areas:  Research proposals should be in areas representing the national research priorities of Qatar.

Institution: Proposal submission should be through local institutions with approved research offices.

Online proposal submission for this cycle ends on 22 February 2021, and the funding announcement will be in July 2021.
