Over the years, Qatar has invested considerable resources and efforts to build local human capital in biomedical and health sciences, including the field of precision medicine, to ensure that citizens of Qatar have access to the most effective and tailor-made treatments.

The World hearing Day is held every year on the 3^rd of March to help raise awareness about hearing problems and how best to prevent deafness, as well as encourage innovative treatment methods and technologies to help individuals deal with hearing impairment.

When it comes to inspirational figures who have made a mark in their professional lives and created substantial impact through their work, Qatar is very fortunate. We have many exceptionally talented scientists, academics, and researchers who through their work are helping Qatar foster a thriving RDI ecosystem and develop solutions for increasingly complex problems faced across the world.

Qatar not only has a wealth of natural oil and gas but also receives high and relatively consistent incident solar radiation (insolation) throughout the year making solar photovoltaic (PV) systems a viable clean energy source to power the country. The Government of Qatar has set a target to generate 20% of the electricity from solar power by 2030. Therefore, efforts need to be made to harness the energy from the sun through PV for domestic electricity production to reduce dependability on hydrocarbons, reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases, and help Qatar emerge as a regional leader in sustainable energy development.
