Results for OSRA5 Announced

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) and the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) have announced the awardees for OSRA— their joint annual research grant on Arab families and family policy-related issues.

For the fifth cycle, applicants were encouraged to submit original research proposals that focus on five research priority areas including behavioral Issues, family cohesion, family wellbeing and protection, marriage and divorce, and parenthood and parenting.

After a competitive review process, seven innovative research proposals were selected from a total of 26 proposals submitted by local and international researchers for funding of up to USD 50,000 for a maximum period of one year. This cycle, two of the awarded researchers are based in Qatar, whereas five belong from Kuwait and Lebanon.

OSRA, the Arabic word for ‘family,’ is jointly offered by QNRF and DIFI to broaden the existing knowledge base on Arabic families. This unique research program supports researchers to conduct research that can contribute to evidence-based policymaking which aims to promote the preservation and prosperity of the Arab family unit along with helping to solve the modern-day challenges it faces.
